Well. To answer your question-- there are things I'd like to know about you. Like, your favorite dishes, your favorite stories... [ ufufufu~ ] or if there is anyone you fancy!
Alright! [ Allura's easily pleased by answers to her curiosities.] Then how about... let's see: if I wanted a favor from you, what could I give you to earn it?
Well, that would be easy. I wouldn't even really consider that a favor.
Though... [frown] That's if any of us can get into the mall without their security guard chasing us down. [oops] There are other malls like that, right? [Yeah?]
[ Ah yes, they did bring in a creature of the bovine kind. Now they have had to add grass to their supplies keep it nourished. ]
Then only Shiro would be the only one who can go! That would overwork him though. [ She had a point to this line of questioning -- ] So! Let's imagine I do ask you to fetch me something of considerable value at the mall. How could I, theoretically, return that favor?
Yeah... [Keith wasn't thrilled about that idea, either. Shiro had enough issues to worry about.
OH, RIGHT, yeah... questions.]
Well, I don't know. Getting something from the Mall isn't that hard unless it's something really rare, or it happens to be a really big shopping day. So, I guess it depends on what it takes to actually get it. Does that make sense?
[Malls were normal to him. He really didn't see this as a big favor. He didn't like them very much if they were crowded, but it wasn't a big deal to him.]
Now, if you wanted to sneak out and come along, that might be harder. [Getting her past Coran was definitely favor worthy.]
Well, not really? I mean, we have a lot of malls on Earth. It's sort of a normal, every day thing for us.
[Of course, getting kicked out of one for shenanigans wasn't a normal every day thing for them, but that was besides the point.
But, then he smirked a little. Her immediate draw to the sneaking out idea was kind of endearing, and right along his line of thinking.]
Sneaking out is definitely something that's favor worthy. I'm assuming that it would be worth a lot to you to actually get to one of these malls in person, huh?
[ Allura did start this line of questioning as "theoretical", but the possibility of it crossing into the realm of "practice" was definitely tempting.
She'll ask more about Earth malls once she's actually seen one. ]
You would be right about that.
[ They did sneak out successfully once before, but Allura felt that they wouldn't have to rely on a pod that risked explosion should this theorizing come to reality. ]
[First thought in his head? Letting the others visit their families back on Earth, but he wasn't sure if that was too heavy of a request.]
Ah, well... maybe... [And he really didn't have much to request for himself, other than maybe taking time to locate his mother's family, but he really had little to no leads on that, so where to even start? He sighed.] Maybe a day off from training? For everybody.
[ Allura had been thinking of something more... grandiose, actually. But seeing that bit of selflessness was quite sweet, she found. ]
That's quite acceptable! You got yourself a deal. [ She gave him an odd little smile. ] You know, I was somehow thinking of naming a star after you, or a planet, perhaps.
[ Alteans have a strange way of putting value to things, it seems. See: Coran. ]
I mean, if you really are looking for a bigger favor, it would be nice to get back to Earth some time, but I don't really know if that's a good idea until we're sure it won't be put in danger by us being there.
[ Keith would find himself to be correct, what with the apologetic smile Allura gave him. ]
Not any time soon, I'm afraid. But-- likewise, I don't need a favor done for me to do that. Being able to visit your home planet as you please is a right, not a privilege.

A favor? What kind of favor?

[ Allura pouted, not liking being forbidden to go. Keith posed a good question there, though. ]
Coran's only ever talked about the one you visited. However, it's been ten thousand years. There could be more branches now.

[Heh... yeah. About that... remember the cow?]

Are you saying that going to the mall isn't something all that... "special" to you?
[ It's a novelty to her! But oh, does Keith present something equally sparkly. In the figurative sense. ]
However, I think I like your idea better. Let's go with that.

Something we'll make right, yes?

Yeah. I think the others need that.
